Face à Face is a bold, avant-garde French eyewear brand founded in Paris in 1995 by Pascal Jaulent and Nadine Roth (with designer Alyson Magee also credited as a founding partner). Jaulent, whose background spanned urban planning and a role as General Manager at Lunettes Lafont, wanted to create frames that captured the personality, flair, and character of the wearer — treating eyewear as wearable art rather than a purely functional accessory.
The brand's design language draws on modern art, architecture, and contemporary culture rather than the eyewear world itself, resulting in sculptural, geometric, and often surrealist frames — from the lip-inspired BOCCA collection to 3D-printed styles — in bold shapes, vibrant colours, and unexpected textures. Each pair is handmade with rigorous attention to comfort, ergonomic fit, and quality, and the brand has been worn by celebrities including Jude Law and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Face à Face joined Design Eyewear Group as a founding brand in 2015, with Jaulent going on to become Chief Creative Officer across the group, while the design team remains based in Paris. In 2025, the brand marked its 30th anniversary, continuing to position itself as a fearless, non-conformist voice in independent eyewear.
