Morel is the oldest active family-owned eyewear design company, founded in 1880 by Jules Morel in the Upper Jura mountains of France — the same region where the brand's headquarters remains today. Jules split his time between farming and eyewear craft, and is credited with inventing the pince-nez, laying the foundation for what would grow into a global optical house. The company is now led by the fourth generation of the Morel family — siblings Francis, Jérôme, and Amélie — carrying forward over 140 years of craftsmanship.
Across its history, Morel has been recognised with numerous industry honours, including Silmo d'Or gold awards, the Red Dot Design Award, and the iF Design Award, and one of its designers became the first woman named "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" in the eyewear category. The brand is known for technical innovation — including a signature screw-free, minimalist hinge — alongside a strong design heritage, with frames spanning acetate, metal, and combination styles across classic and contemporary silhouettes.
Today Morel operates as a house of several lines, including 1880 (drawing on its heritage archives), Koali, Öga, and Lightec, each with a distinct identity, while staying true to its roots as an independent, French-manufactured brand with a deep commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and family legacy.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY
We completely understand that frames can look different when tried on, so we offer a 14-day return policy if you are not completely happy with your purchase.
To be eligible for a refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and securely wrapped.
Return shipping fee & any additional import taxes will be the responsibility of the buyer and we recommend getting tracking as we cannot be responsible for a lost return.

SHIPPING INFO
Once you have chosen your frames we will package and ship as soon as we can (normally the next working day).
We send our frames out tracked so you will be provided with a tracking number.
The majority of our frames will come with the original case, some however will be sent with our case instead. A microfibre lens cloth will also be provided.
